I am a 5th generation tour guide, I grew up in the business, working alongside my father Leander Staley (the owner) and several other family members. It is a great honor to work with my family and being on tour I love sharing my world with the guest. Since growing up in tourism, I became curious to what’s all out there, and have become a world traveler myself, and a strong advocate for indigenous youth and travel. Join me for an incredible adventure inside the canyons!
I’m ila, a guide for 1 year . I enjoy sharing a place I grew up in with the many visitors that come to experience Canyon DeChelly.
Yá'át'ééh (Hello), my name is Daniel Staley, “I’m as old as the canyon”, and the founder of the business which started in 1989, originally naming it De Chelly Tours, I wanted to emphasize which canyon I grew up in. I’ve since handed down the business to my youngest son, Leander Staley who’s the current owner and have renamed to Beauty Way Jeep Tours to highlight our Navajo/Diné philosophy in our way of life. In my earlier years I aided in several archeological sites and reconstruction. I’ve been guiding for over 55 years and enjoy sharing our culture through stories, and if you’re lucky I’ll play my flute. I know the canyon like the back of my hand and am excited to welcome you on tour!
Yá'át'ééh (Hello) “Welcome to Canyon de Chelly, welcome to our home,” My name is Benjamin Anagal, I’ve been with the business since it first began in 1989, leading tours with my cousin brother Daniel Staley for over 50 years. I’m from Black Rock and grew up on Del Muerto side of the canyon. I’m excited to share with you my plethora of Navajo/Diné knowledge and stories which have been passed down from generations. If you’re lucky, in the summers we’ll get to visit with my sister Kathrine who’s a world renowned weaver as she does a weaving presentation and gives you the opportunity to purchase her pieces. She doesn’t sell to trade posts so you must source directly from her under the tree in the canyon. Join me for an amazing adventure!
Yá'át'ééh (Hello) I’m Elsie Cly aka Grandma Elsie, try to keep up with me, as I may be the oldest of our guides, that sure doesn’t slow me down. I’m an avid runner and hiker who was raised in the canyon, so I know these trails like the back of my hand. I’m from Del Muerto side near Mummy cave. If I’m not on tour you can catch me on the trails running often, at 75 years old this past January of 2025. I’ve been a busy gal all my life, and in my earlier years working in the healthcare field for several decades, promoting wellness for our people and the community. I welcome you on a fun filled tour with lots of laughs and some spectacular views!

My paternal grandmother who raised me in the canyon. I had the pleasure of traditional lifestyle in the canyon floor, such as farming, growing our own vegetables, fruit orchards and sheep herding was a normal lifestyle. My name is DonVan Staley. My family still resides in Canyon De Chelly. At 15 yrs of age, I remember my parents dropping me off near a trail head on the rim of canyon which was over 1000 ft. sheer cliff. My parents directed me and siblings , go help your grandparents. And, this was during our summer vacations after school out. I’ve been raised as tour guide since Great Grandfather said, follow me with the group. He had lead hiking, horse tours, wagon tours, 4x4’s and overnight camping every year called the Sierra Club since 1980’s. Now days, I’m still doing guided tours with our family business created by my father, Daniel Staley since 1989 and currently owned by my brother Leander Staley.
